How to connect to Wi-Fi
The University of Roehampton has two dedicated, secure Wi-Fi networks and two additional networks for guests.

How To Join The WiFi Network
Windows 11
Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the far right side of the taskbar to open quick settings.
The Disconnected icon appears when you’re not connected.
On the Wi-Fi quick setting, select Manage Wi-Fi connections .
Choose the Wi-Fi network you want, then select Connect.
Type the network password, and then select Next.
Windows 10

Select the Network icon on the taskbar. The icon that appears depends on your current connection state. If you don’t see one of the network icons (or a similar one) shown in the following image, select the Up arrow to see if it appears there.
Choose the Wi-Fi network you want, then select Connect.
Type the network password, and then select Next.
Choose Yes or No, depending on the type of network you're connecting to and if you want your PC to be discoverable by other PCs and devices on the network.
Apple Devices
- From your Home screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join.
- Enter your Roehampton username and password where prompted.
If your Roehampton email address is smithj@roehampton.ac.uk your username will be smithj)
- You may be asked to Trust a certificate – please click “Trust” to proceed.
6. After you join the network, you'll see a blue tick next to the network and the connected Wi-Fi icon in the upper corner of your display.
Android Devices
- Click "Settings" then select "Wireless & Networks" and "WiFi settings".
- If WiFi is not enabled, please enable it.
- Select the appropriate network from the list.
- Refer to the configuration guide below to ensure your settings are correct:

UoR Guest Wi-fi network

uorguest3 is available in the Library and Conferencing areas (e.g. Elm Grove)
(NB: uorguest is an unsecured network; uorguest3 is secure)
To join uorguest you will need to sign in via a web page
Please note
- Users will need to agree to the User Acceptance Policy (Terms and Conditons) before they can gain access to the guest Wi-Fi network
- Uorguest3: you will need to log into uorguest and agree to the User Acceptance Policy before you will be able to use uorguest3
- Users with guest accounts; user@roehampton.ac.uk; and accounts with the prefix C-XXX (conferencing accounts) will be able to access both guest networks.
- The change password button on the log in page is only available to guest accounts with a password that is a series of numbers. Other users should use Password Self Service: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
- Roehampton staff and students are advisedf to use their dedicated Wi-Fi networks: uorstaff and uorstudent
How to connect a Smart Device (Amazon Echo, Google Home, Apple HomePod, etc)
If you would like to connect a Smart Device to the Wi-Fi network, please submit a ticket with the MAC address of your device.

How to connect a Smart TV or streaming device
The best way to connect a Smart TV to the network in your room is with an Ethernet cable:
