Password Self Service: How Do I Change or Reset My Password?
❗Do not share your password with anyone, for any reason.
❗Your password is for your eyes only. Please do not include your password in any emails or tickets. Roehampton staff will never ask you for your password.
The first time you log in to your Roehampton account, you must provide security verification options. Once you have done so, you will be able to use Password Self Service.
We strongly recommend that you provide as many verification options as you can, and at least more than one, when entering your security information/details when you first log in. For example, your mobile phone number, your personal email address, and additional security questions. If you have multiple verification options set up, you will have additional options to get back into your account if the unforeseen should occur.
Please note students are currently only required to set up verification options for password resets.

❗ If you reset the password, please wait for at least twenty minutes before you try to use it – this is to ensure all our systems have properly synchronised. If you try to log in before the twenty minutes has elapsed, this may result in your account becoming locked out.

I Cannot Use Password Self Service
My verification options don't work
If none of your verification options are working (for example, your Authenticator App is not working as you have changed your phone number, or you have a new phone) you will need to contact the IT Department so we can enable you to update your security information.

Make sure to include the following personal details so we can verify your identity:
- Your full name
- Your post code
- The course you're studying
- Your telephone number (if you have changed your number, please tell us both old and new numbers)

❗Please note that in order to use Password Self Service you need to have successfully logged in to your account at least once before.

Important Information About Your Password
Your password is case sensitive, and must conform to the minimum University password criteria:
- Your password must be at least 8 characters long (to a maximum length of 127 characters)
- It must contain:
Upper case letters: A through Z
Lower case letters: a through z
Numbers: 0 to 9
- You cannot re-use any prior password.
- You cannot use any part of your name or your username in your password.
