How To Find Your Device Name (Windows & Apple Mac)

Every Roehampton University workstation and laptop is assigned a unique name. This enables IT Services to identify your computer so we can provide IT support; install software and centrally manage anti virus and other essential services by remote access.

1: To find out the computer name on a Windows machine:

A) look for the asset tag sticker on the computer itself.

B) type 'View your PC name' into the Windows Search box in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen > hit enter > the PC name is under Device name.

2: To find out the computer name on an Apple mac

Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > Provide IP Address e,g 10.000.0.0
