How To Find Your Device Name (Windows & Apple Mac)
Every Roehampton University workstation and laptop is assigned a unique name. This enables IT Services to identify your computer so we can provide IT support; install software and centrally manage anti virus and other essential services by remote access.
1: To find out the computer name on a Windows machine:
Look for the asset tag sticker on the computer itself.
If that is not visible: type View your PC name into the Windows search box. The Windows search box is in taskbar in the bottom left of your screen Then hit enter.

On the resulting page - the PC name is listed under Device name.
Examples of machine names include HPDT XXXX (desktop); HPLP XXXX (laptop)
2: To find out the computer name on an Apple mac
Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > Provide IP Address e,g 10.000.0.0
